MEET THE AUTHOR 

Rick Riordan was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, graduating from Alama Heights High School. He later graduated from the University of Texas. She taught English and Social Studies for 8 years at Presidio Hill School in San Francisco.

 Riordan has created several successful literary sagas: the multi-award-winning adult mystery series Tres Navarre, which follows the adventures of a Texas scholar; his series Percy Jackson and the Olympian Gods, which follows the 12-year-old main character who discovers that he is a modern son of the Ancient Greek god, Poseidon.
